Johnathan Motley named NBA G League Player of the Month

FRISCO, TX, (Feb. 1, 2018) – Texas Legends center Johnathan Motley was named NBA G League Player of the Month today for the month of January.

Motley (6-10, 230, Baylor) averaged 22.6 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 11 games this month, leading Texas to a league-best 9-2 record. The Houston native set new career highs for himself and season-highs for the team in rebounds with 17 boards in back-to-back games while the team went on a seven-game win streak. Motley had career-highs in assists (6) and steals (6) in the month and tallied eight double-doubles in 11 games, bringing his season total to 17.

Motley has played 26 games with the Legends this season averaging 21.8 points, 10.5 rebounds on a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
