COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (Feb. 19, 2020) — USA Basketball today announced that G League Lakeland Magic guard Josh Magette has been added to the USA roster for its February 20 and 23 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying games. Magette replaces Abdul Gaddy (Oklahoma City Blue) who was injured during the USA training camp.
Magette, who has played in 26 NBA regular season games with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017-18 and the Orlando Magic in 2019-20, currently leads the NBA G League in assists per game. In 23 games played for the Lakeland Magic this season, Magette has averaged 20.4 points, 10.3 assists and 2.0 steals, averaging 34.8 minutes per game. Last month, he moved into second place on the NBA G League all-time assists leaderboard. Magette was also named to the Eastern Conference Midseason All-NBA G League Team.

Former NBA head coach Mike Fratello is serving as head coach of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team for the February 2020 FIBA AmeriCup qualifying games. Longtime NBA and college assistant coach Andy Greer and former NBA and USA Basketball athlete Othella Harrington are serving as USA assistant coaches.
The USA team will train Feb. 14-17 at the University of Miami, Feb. 18 at the Orlando Magic practice facility, Feb. 19 in San Juan Puerto Rico, and the team will continue its training Feb. 21-22 in Washington, D.C. The USA will play a pair of games in the February FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying window, including a game versus Puerto Rico in San Juan on Feb. 20 (7 p.m. EST) and a home game on Sunday, Feb. 23 (3 p.m. EST) versus Puerto Rico at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
