NBA G League on Twitch: Meet the Bulls, 905, Drive and Mad Ants (Dec. 30, 2 & 7 PM ET)

By Alex Busch | December 29, 2017

We’re in for a treat on Saturday as two NBA G League games will be streaming live on Twitch.

The Raptors 905 (affiliate of the Toronto Raptors) are set to host the Windy City Bulls (affiliate of the Chicago Bulls) in Saturday’s first Twitch matchup (2 PM ET), before the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (affiliate of the Indiana Pacers) welcome in the Grand Rapids Drive (affiliate of the Detroit Pistons) at 7 PM ET.

To get you set for the contests, we breakdown each team’s top performer so far this season.

Windy City Bulls – Antonio Blakeney

The Chicago Bulls two-way player has been tearing it up at the NBA G League level this season, while also producing in his time with the NBA Bulls. Blakeney, who leads the G League with 35.6 points per game this season, set a new franchise single-game record on Nov. 10, when he dropped 44 points. He then earned his opportunity in the NBA with the Bulls, but when he came back to play with Windy City, he did himself better, dropping 46.

Blakeney has “cooled down” in his last two games, scoring 26 and 24 points, respectively — which wouldn’t be even considered as “cooling down” if he wasn’t so hot shooting the ball to begin with. He’s scored 30-plus points in every other game he’s played for Windy City, including three in the 40s.

Raptors 905 – Lorenzo Brown

Also a two-way player, Brown has jumped around between the 905 and the NBA Raptors. In his time in the G League, he has averaged 20.8 points, 8.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 11 games. Brown is coming off a 30-point night against the Delaware 87ers on Dec. 27, where he shot 63.2 percent (12-for-19) from the field and added four assists. He has scored 30 points or more in two of his last four games, and look for him to continue that on Saturday against Blakeney and the Bulls.

Grand Rapids Drive – KJ McDaniels

Grand Rapids has had several big scorers this season, but as of late KJ McDaniels has been showcasing highlight-reel dunks and plays for the Drive. McDaniels, who didn’t play this season until Dec. 15, is averaging 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in four games. He’s put up 20-or-more points in four of five games, including a season-high of 29 on Dec. 16.

Fort Wayne Mad Ants – Walt Lemon Jr.

Now let’s not forget the NBA G League Player of the Month from November. Lemon, who has played in all of Fort Wayne’s 21 games so far this season, is pacing the offense with 22.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He is shooting a very efficient 48.5 percent from the field as well, while finding time and space to dish out the ball as well. His slick moves present a problem to just about any defense around the league.
