No. 3 Blue Advances To Conference Semifinals After Defeating No. 6 Vipers

OKLAHOMA CITY, April 2, 2024 – The Oklahoma City Blue (1-0) defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (0-1), 126-125 in overtime during the opening round of the G League Playoffs on Tuesday evening at Paycom Center. Thunder assignment player Ousmane Dieng hit the game-winning field goal in overtime to secure the playoff victory for the Blue and finished with 14 points.

The Blue held a 28-24 lead after the first quarter and a 59-47 lead at halftime, but the Vipers trimmed its deficit to 90-84 going into the final frame. The Vipers outscored the Blue 35-29 in the fourth to send the game to overtime. The Blue then outscored the Vipers 7-6 in overtime to reach the target score first.

“I thought the group did an incredible job of staying together and battling through some real adversity,” Head Coach Kameron Woods said. “The fans tonight were amazing and we are looking forward to advancing in the playoffs.”

Thunder two-way player Adam Flagler led all scorers with 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting and 7-of-14 3-point shooting on the night.  Fellow two-way player Olivier Sarr added 14 points and a game-high 22 rebounds in the win.

With tonight’s victory, the Blue advances to the Conference Semifinals of the G League Playoffs where they will travel to Sioux Falls to match-up against the Skyforce on Friday, April 5 at 8 p.m. CDT.
