Top-Ranked Prospect Tim Frazier Called Up to New Orleans Pelicans

PORTLAND, Maine – March 16, 2016 – Maine Red Claws point guard Tim Frazier has signed a 10-day contract with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced today. Frazier joins Coty Clarke as a member of the Red Claws to receive GATORADE Call-Ups this season.

The reigning NBA D-League MVP and Rookie of the Year, Frazier returned to Maine on Feb. 26, leading the Red Claws to a 7-1 record in eight games, averaging 15.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 9.4 assists. He was named D-League Performer of the Week for back-to-back weeks March 6 and 13.

All-time, Frazier has five of the Red Claws’ ten triple-doubles, including a 24 point, 12 rebound, 10 assist performance in just his second game back with Maine on Feb. 28.

This is Frazier’s third GATORADE Call-Up of his career. Frazier signed consecutive 10-day contracts with the Philadelphia 76ers, and a multiyear deal with the Portland Trail Blazers last season. He was waived by Portland and returned to the Red Claws three weeks ago.
