International Breakdown: Adam Mokoka was born in France, where he’s spent his entire basketball career up to this point. Mokoka played his first three professional seasons with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque in Pro A (France), the same team who developed him in their youth academy. He was named the 2018 Pro A Best Young Player after his final season with BCM Gravelines Dunkerque. The Paris-native spent his final professional season in France with Mega Bemax, where he averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game on 31.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Mokoka has also spent time with the French National Team, participating with the squad in the FIBA Europe Under-18 and Under-16 European Championships.

Scouting Report: At 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan and elite athleticism, Mokoka projects to be a combo guard at the NBA level, who could potentially transition into a wing as well. The French product has an NBA-ready physique with elite vertical ability around the rim as a guard. Offensively, Mokoka thrives in transition, leading fast breaks and helping to set the overall tempo for any given game. Mokoka is very impressive at getting to the rim through contact and defensive pressure, using his athleticism and physical build to dart pass slower defenders and leaping ability to go over taller players. The former Mega Bemax guard is unselfish with the basketball in his hands, setting up teammates nicely off of pick-and-roll plays and isolation opportunities. Defensively, Mokoka can guard point guards through small forwards and is quite the pest, forcing steals and getting into passing lanes in an instant. If Mokoka can improve his overall 3-point percentage and potentially add a mid-range jumper, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.

Organizational Fit: While the Bulls are a bit log-jammed at guard with Kris Dunn, Shaq Harrison, Denzel Valentine, Coby White and Tomas Satoransky already on the NBA roster, Mokoka will have plenty of time to develop his shooting and overall game with the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League. Windy City has done an excellent job grooming other guards in the NBA G League in previous seasons including Spencer Dinwiddie, Walter Lemon Jr. and Cameron Payne.
