Player: Allonzo Trier
College: Arizona (2015-2018)
Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 205 pounds
NBA Team/NBA G League Affiliate: New York Knicks/Westchester Knicks
College Breakdown: Allonzo Trier declared for the 2018 NBA Draft after his junior year at the University of Arizona. Trier was named to the All-Pac 12 Second Team his sophomore year and the All-Pac 12 First Team his junior year. The Seattle, Washington-native finished near the top of the conference in almost every offensive category during his junior campaign. He ended the year 2nd in the Pac-12 in offensive rating (129.2), 3rd in free-throw percentage (86.5 percent), 5th in points per game (18.1), 6th in player efficiency rating (22.6), 12th in field goal percentage (50 percent) and 10th in minutes played per game (34.1). Trier scored at least 20 points in 16 games during the 2017-2018 season and notched 30 points or more in two contests.
Scouting Report: Trier projects as a combo guard in the NBA/NBA G League and will add instant offense to the New York/Westchester Knicks. He’s an excellent scorer off the dribble with a solid close-range, mid-range and long-range shot. Trier has a plethora of go-to moves and the speed to whiz by defenders with the ball in his hands. He’s got above-average court vision and is solid at finding an open teammate when he draws a double team on the way to the basket. When Trier gets hot, he becomes the center of the offense.
Organizational Fit: Allonzo Trier will greatly benefit from playing under NBA G League Coach of the Year Mike Miller in Westchester. Miller led the Knicks to the top overall seed in the 2018 NBA G League Playoffs and an Atlantic Division title. The Westchester Knicks finished second in the league last season in points allowed (101.5) per game, which will be helpful for Trier to improve his defensive. Westchester has also done an excellent job of developing NBA-ready guards such as Trey Burke and Langston Galloway.
They don't call him @ISO_ZO for nothing 🔥.
