Team USA kept things rolling in game two of FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, as USA took down Mexico, 91-55, at Greensboro Fieldhouse on Sunday evening. USA started the game strong and didn’t look back.
Four different Americans scored exactly 14 points, including Iowa Wolves’ Xavier Munford, Maine Red Claws’ Jonathon Holmes, and South Bay Lakers’ Travis Wear. Wear added 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Texas Legends’ Donald Sloan dished out seven assists in the win.
USA shot 54 percent (13-for-24) from 3-point range in the win, including three triples from Holmes.
USA led Mexico 25-12 after the opening quarter, and then didn’t take its feet off the pedal until the final buzzer.
USA finishes the first window of qualifying games undefeated, and will continue play during the second window in February. USA is slated to host Cuba on Feb. 23, 2018 (site and time TBD) and host Puerto Rico again on Feb. 26, 2018 (site and time TBD).
