What is the NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T?

The NBA League Up Next Game presented by AT&T will be held as part of NBA All-Star 2025 in San Francisco on Sunday, Feb. 16 at NBA Crossover in the Moscone Center.  The game will feature a tournament-style format with four teams, drafted by influencer general managers, and  composed of some of the G League’s most exciting players. 

Who will be taking part in the game?

Twenty-eight players, including 10 NBA G League players selected by a fan vote, will compete in the Up Next Game presented by AT&T. The remaining 18 players will be selected by the NBA G League and will include at least one member of the Santa Cruz Warriors, the G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.

What is the format of the game?

Four influencer GMs will draft their teams from the pool of 28 players. NBA G League coaches will help guide the teams. The game will feature four teams of seven players competing in two semifinal games and will be played with rules similar to Rising Stars. Two teams will square off in Semifinals matchups to 30 points, and the winning teams will face off in a Championship game to determine an overall winner.

Is there a fan vote?

Fans can vote for their favorite NBA G League players on the NBA G League app or NBAGLeague.com/vote. Voting opens on Friday, Dec. 27 at 9 a.m. ET and and closes on Friday, Jan. 24 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Updates will be provided on the G League website and social channels to show which players lead in votes. 

Which players can I vote for?

All NBA G League contract players currently on rosters and NBA Two-Way players who have played in at least one game in the NBA G League are eligible to be selected. NBA contract players who have played in the G League on assignment are not eligible to be selected in the fan vote.

How many players can I vote for?

Each fan is able to vote for up to five players per ballot - three frontcourt players (forwards and centers) and two backcourt players (guards). There is no limit to how many times a fan can vote, they will just have to resubmit a new ballot for each entry.

How can I attend?

Fans can attend the NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T by purchasing general admission tickets to NBA Crossover, starting at $50 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at http://NBAEvents.com and through the NBA Events App, which can be downloaded in the Apple Store or Google Play Store. All seats for the Up Next Game presented by AT&T will be unassigned and on a first-come first-served basis. 

What happened at last year’s event?

The 2024 NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T featured four teams of seven players. The teams were drafted by creator GMs representing Team Ball Is Life (Austin Mills of BallIsLife), Team Strictly (Nolan Newberg, Joe Doerrer of Strictly BBall), Team Giraffe Stars (Kris London), and Team EYL (Troy Millings and Rashad Bilal of Earn Your Leisure). 

Team BallisLife defeated Team Giraffe Stars, 32-25 in Game 1 of the Semifinals after a 10-point performance from the Cleveland Charge's Emoni Bates. Team EYL won the matchup over Team StrictlyBball, 30-27, after Sioux Falls Skyforce star Alondes Williams dropped 14 points in Game 2 of the Semifinals. Team BallisLife and Team EYL met in the the G League Up Next Game Finals with Team EYL claiming the win, 30-21, featuring an MVP performance from the Osceola Magic's Trevelin Queen.

2024 G League Up Next Game Full Draft Results

NBA G League AT&T Slam Dunk

The NBA G League AT&T Slam Dunk took place on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. ET and featured four of the league’s top dunkers. Each competitor will complete two dunks in the first round, with each judge awarding six to 10 points for each dunk. Dunkers will have 60 seconds to complete each dunk. The two players with the highest composite scores after the first round move on to the second round, where the time limits and scoring system remain the same. The player with the highest composite score for his two dunks in the final round is crowned the 2024 NBA G League AT&T Slam Dunk champion.
