NBA G League games during the 2018-19 season are currently available on Facebook Live, ESPN+ ESPNU and NBA TV.
See below for information on how to watch games on each respective broadcast outlet. For games streaming live online, the viewing link can be accessed via the game pages on NBAGLeague.com, which are found here or in the NBA G League app.
NBA G League games began streaming live on Facebook at the beginning of the 2016-17 season. Games can be accessed on the NBA G League’s official Facebook page, surfacing to the top of the page when they are live. Nationally televised games can also be watched on-demand on Facebook.
All games not airing on the below networks will stream on Facebook Live during the 2018-19 season.
Beginning in 2018-19, ESPN+ subscribers will be able to watch more than 200 games per season. The premium multi-sport, direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment and ESPN will offer multiple NBA G League games per day each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the season.
ESPNU is ESPN’s college sports-focused network. NBA G League games returned to ESPN networks in 2015. 21 regular season games are set to air on ESPNU this season, including 12 at the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase
20 regular season NBA G League games are slated to air on NBA TV this season. The schedule is highlighted by the Game of the Week, televised live on Sunday afternoons.
Twitch is the world’s leading social video service and community for gamers with 15 million daily active users. NBA G League games debuted on the platform in December, representing the first time a major sports league has tapped into several technological innovations unique to Twitch.
NBA G League games stream live on Twitch each week at twitch.tv/nbagleague. A fter each live broadcast, these games will be available on demand.
The partnership expands NBA G League game distribution and aims to ambitiously innovate the digital presentation of basketball. In addition to the main broadcast, this partnership features co-streaming with select Twitch personalities and basketball fans. Co-streaming allows a creator to share another channel’s video feed, but with their own commentary and community, resulting in a more personalized, social experience that includes the ability for viewers to chat with commentators during the game. To enhance the viewing experience, Twitch is adding interactive features with the NBA G League Extension. This is a channel overlay created using Twitch Extensions, which are a new set of tools that allow developers to help creators customize their channel pages with interactive experiences. The NBA G League Extension provides the following features for Twitch viewers which will update and evolve over time:
- Stats: Viewers can click on a team’s name or logo next to the scoreboard to view player, team, game, and season stats. There will also be a ticker featuring league stats related to other games from around the league.
- Loyalty Display: Logged in viewers will be rewarded with loyalty points for passive and active behaviors and interactions with the stream. Viewers can compete to unlock achievements, climb season long leaderboards, and more to eventually earn prizes.
