WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, were defeated by the Long Island Nets, 111-98 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.



The Go-Go fell behind early in the first quarter but went on a 15-0 run in the final three minutes of the period to lead the Nets 29-25. The Nets took control in the second quarter, scoring 35 points to the Go-Go’s 25, finishing the half leading 60-54. At the start of the second half, the Nets maintained their single-digit lead until Wizards two-way Jordan Goodwin sparked the Go-Go’s offense, knocking down a three-pointer, assisting a three from Wizards Assignee Isaiah Todd, and shooting another three-pointer in back-to-back-to-back possessions. Despite the run putting the Go-Go up by three points, the Nets responded by finishing the quarter strong, leading the Go-Go 86-79. The Go-Go did not lead again and ultimately fell to the Nets 111-98.



Goodwin led both teams in points and assists with 23 points and 6 assists. He also led the Go-Go in rebounds with 7. Devon Dotson shot the ball efficiently, going 6-for-8 from the field to finish the night with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Wizards Assignee Johnny Davis also scored in double-digits with 10 points. Todd made two three’s and had 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in 18 minutes of play off the bench.



Nets center RaiQuan Gray recorded the only double-double of the night with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Gray also led the Nets in assists with 5. Alondes Williams led the Nets in scoring with 18 points off the bench. Brooklyn Nets two-way Dru Smith and Kaiser Gates each had 3 steals and scored in double-digits with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Chris Chiozza (15), Kameron Hankerson (15), and Jordan Bowden (12) were the Nets other double-digit scorers for the night.



The Go-Go will face the Maine Celtics in the last game of the team’s four-game homestand on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
