HENDERSON, Nev.,&nbsp;Nov. 6, 2022&nbsp;–&nbsp;G League Ignite fell despite late-game rally on Sunday night against the Salt Lake City Stars, 120-119, in Henderson, Nev., at The Dollar Loan Center.&nbsp;



In a gritty game, Ignite leaned on&nbsp;Scoot Henderson&nbsp;and&nbsp;Leonard Miller&nbsp;to make for an exciting ending. Henderson filled up the stat sheet and led all scorers with 25 points along with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Miller notched Ignite’s first double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds.&nbsp;Mojave King&nbsp;added some extra fire power by adding 14 points and knocking down four three-pointers on 57 percent shooting from behind the arc.&nbsp;



Down by seven at halftime, the momentum began to shift in favor of Ignite after Henderson forced a turnover that led him to a massive dunk over the defender which resulted in a technical foul. At that point, Ignite dug down defensively and was able to cut down its deficit to three points.&nbsp;James Southerland&nbsp;provided an immediate spark when he made his first appearance of the season by producing a pivotal block that led to a highlight dunk by&nbsp;Babacar Sane&nbsp;on the other end. Southerland would end up scoring Ignite’s next bucket with a big three-pointer to cut Salt Lake City’s lead to four points.



In the beginning of the fourth quarter, Ignite would reclaim the lead for the first time since the 5:34 mark in the second quarter. Ignite was able to feed off the crowd’s energy after&nbsp;Efe Abogidi’s&nbsp;massive dunk over a defender that was followed up by Miller’s and-one opportunity. In a back-and-forth quarter, the deciding factor would come down to the final seconds. With 2.7 seconds left on the clock, Miller knocked down a huge 19-foot shot that would give Ignite a 1-point lead. The Salt Lake City Stars would respond as Tyler Cook was able to get a tough shot to fall after being fouled in the final second of the game.&nbsp;



The Stars were led by its starters, as each starter scored at least 17 points. Rawle Alkins led the way with 23 points and 7 assists while Johnny Juzang poured in 21 points.&nbsp;

Ignite will travel to El Segundo on the second night of back-to-back games to take on the South Bay Lakers at the UCLA Health Training Center on Monday night for its first road test of the season. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. PT and will air nationally on ESPNews.
