Oceanside, California February 21, 2025 – The San Diego Clippers (7-11) lose to the Salt Lake City Stars (11-9), 136-127.
The San Diego Clippers got off to a strong start, leading by seven midway through the first quarter, fueled by Jordan Miller’s 8 points on 3-4 shooting. The Salt Lake City Stars cut the lead to just two points by the end of the quarter, with the score at 29-27. Miller finished the first quarter with 10 points, and the Clippers&#8217; defense registered six steals. The Stars carried that momentum into the second quarter, quickly taking a 4-point lead. By halftime, the Stars had built a commanding 19-point lead, 69-50. The Clippers were unable to capitalize on 12 turnovers by the Stars, struggled to keep pace offensively. Jordan Miller led the Clippers with 16 points in the first half, while Patrick Baldwin Jr. added 15 points The Clippers responded going on a 12-3 run to cut the deficit to nine points. Going into the fourth quarter though the Clippers trailed by 21 points, 107-86. The Clippers mounted a late comeback, thanks in large part to Miller’s 11 points in the final quarter. With just under two minutes left, the Clippers had trimmed the Stars&#8217; lead to just six points. Despite the rally, they were ultimately unable to close the gap, falling 136-127.
Jordan Miller had a standout performance for the Clippers, setting a new season-high with 34 points on an efficient 13-16 shooting. Patrick Baldwin Jr. made a strong impact in his first game with the team, contributing 29 points and six rebounds. Braxton Key added 20 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals, while Jaelen House provided 13 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 55% from the field and registered six blocks.
The Salt Lake City Stars were led by former Clippers player Elijah Harkless, who poured in 37 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Oscar Tshiebwe was also a key contributor, adding 23 points and 9 rebounds .
