Blue Coats Top Nets To Win Third Straight Eastern Conference Finals

LONG ISLAND (April 2, 2023) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, were defeated by the Delaware Blue Coats 108-94 on Sunday night in the NBA G League Eastern Conference Finals at Nassau Coliseum. Tonight’s game ends Long Island’s historic season.
Nets forward Kaiser Gates posted 21 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and one block in 36 minutes. Long Island forward Alondes Williams notched 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes. Brooklyn two-way guard David Duke Jr. recorded 15 points in 33 minutes, while Brooklyn two-way guard Dru Smith tallied 14 points in 33 minutes.
Long Island and Delaware went back-and-forth in the first quarter until consecutive shots by the Blue Coats put them over the Nets. Delaware closed the period ahead by eight, 30-22. The Nets battled hard in the second quarter, but they could not get shots to fall. The Blue Coats went into halftime ahead by 11, 56-45.
Delaware maintained its defensive effort in the third quarter, outrebounding the Nets 15-10. The Blue Coats closed the period ahead by 15, 83-68. Long Island came within one point of the Blue Coats in the final quarter, but they could not finish despite outscoring Delaware 26-25. The Blue Coats went on to defeat Long Island 108-94.
Delaware guard Jaden Springer tallied 21 points, 16 rebounds, three blocks and one assist in 40 minutes. Blue Coats forward Louis King recorded 20 points, five rebounds, three rebounds and three steals in 34 minutes.
The Blue Coats will advance to the NBA G League Finals and will play the winner of tonight’s Rio Grande Valley and Sioux Falls game.
