Capital City Acquires Jules Bernard, Motor City Gets Echenique In Trade

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, have acquired Jules Bernard from the Motor City Cruise in exchange for Jaime Echenique. The trade is not subject to a physical.

Bernard was in his first season with Motor City, appearing in 17 of 18 games for the Cruise, averaging 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 22.8 minutes per game. Prior to joining the Cruise, Bernard went undrafted out of UCLA in the 2022 NBA Draft and participated in the Detroit Pistons’ training camp before being designated as an affiliate player. At UCLA, Bernard was named to the 2022 Pac-12 All-Tournament Team and was part of the Bruins’ 2021 Final Four team. In his final year at UCLA, Bernard averaged 12.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 30.1 minutes per game.

Echenique first joined the Go-Go prior to the 2021-22 season and currently holds the Go-Go record for most rebounds in a season at 415. He appeared in 14 games for the Go-Go this season, averaging 9.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.
