CHICAGO BULLS SIGN YUKI KAWAMURA TO TWO-WAY CONTRACT

The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has signed guard Yuki Kawamura (Yoo-kee kah-wah-MOO-rah) to a two-way contract. In a related move, Chicago has waived forward Trentyn Flowers.
Kawamura, 5-8, 159, suited up in two preseason games with Chicago in 2025-26, posting averages of 3.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 10.8 minutes. Prior to his preseason appearances with the Bulls, Kawamura had one season of NBA experience, appearing in 22 NBA games (no starts) with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2024-25 while averaging 1.6 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 4.2 minutes.
The Yanai, Japan native spent five seasons in the Japanese B.League (2019-24) before joining the NBA, playing in 167 games between the San-en NeoPhoenix (2019-20) and Yokohama B-Corsairs (2020-24). He averaged career clips of 16.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 27.1 minutes during his tenure in the B.League, earning Most Valuable Player and Guard of the Year in 2022-23, alongside two Japanese B.League’s Best Five Team selections.
Kawamura has been a member of the Japanese National Team since 2021-22. His tenure with the national team includes an appearance in the 2024 Olympics – where Kawamura was the only player to average at least 20.0 points and 7.0 assists among all Olympians.
Flowers played in two games with Chicago in 2025-26, averaging 2.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 2.8 minutes per game. Flowers also suited up in three G League regular season games for Chicago’s G League affiliate, Windy City Bulls, and averaged 8.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 27.7 minutes. Prior to the start of the G League regular season, Flowers played in 11 games with Windy City during the G League Tip-Off Tournament (13.0 ppg, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks).
At this moment, Chicago has 18 rostered players, including three two-way contracts (Kawamura, Emanuel Miller, Lachlan Olbrich).
