Delaware Blue Coats Win 2022-23 NBA G League Championship

Edinberg, TX – The Delaware Blue Coats defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Thursday night 114-110, in Game 2 of the 2022-23 NBA G League Finals to secure the team’s first league championship in franchise history.
Jaden Springer was named Finals MVP and averaged 34 points per game across the title series. In Thursday’s decisive Game 2, Springer scored 21 points and pulled down nine boards. Mac McClung led Delaware in scoring with 30 and had eight assists. Braxton Key (22), Michael Foster Jr. (13) and Lou King (11) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Coats.
The Blue Coats secured a first-round bye in this year’s playoffs and went on to defeat the Capital City Go-Go in the Eastern Conference Semifinal and the Long Island Nets in the Eastern Conference Final.
The G League Title comes in Delawares third consecutive trip to the championship match. The Blue Coats have won Eastern Conference pennants in 2020-2021, 2021-22 and 2022-23. The team was crowned NBA G League Showcase Cup champions in 2021.
