DJ Steward Named NBA G League Player Of The Week

PORTLAND, ME – The NBA G League today announced that Maine Celtics guard DJ Steward has been named NBA G League Player of the week for games played March 11-17.

Steward led Maine to a 3-1 record on the week, averaging 27.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. The Celtics have won seven of their last eight games, launching themselves into playoff position with only four games remaining in the regular season.

Steward matched his season high in points in a near triple-double performance (34 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists) on March 13 at Delaware, including a contested basket at the end of regulation. Maine went on to win the game, 119-116 in overtime. Steward has scored 20+ points in eight consecutive games and has topped 25 points in six of those contests.

Steward becomes the second member of the Maine Celtics to win G League Player of the Week honors this season, joining JD Davison (Dec. 4-10).
