Freeman-Liberty Earns his First Player of the Week Award

Raptors 905 two-way guard, Javon Freeman-Liberty has been named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Feb. 12 to Sunday, Feb. 25, the league announced today. Freeman-Liberty averaged 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.4 steals in four games, helping the 905 tally a 3-1 record through that time.

In the 905’s loss to Greensboro on Feb. 13 Freeman-Liberty posted 36 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. He contributed 26 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals in the victory over Greensboro Feb. 15. He finished with 37 points, a career-high 14 rebounds, two assists, and a steal in the first of back-to-back overtime victories in Santa Cruz Friday night. Freeman-Liberty capped off the week tallying 36 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals in the overtime win in against Santa Cruz Saturday evening.

Through 19 games (18 starts) in the regular season, Freeman-Liberty is averaging 24.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals in 35.3 minutes. He has scored 20+ points in a team-high 14 times, including six 30+ point games. Freeman-Liberty is the only player in the G League currently averaging 24-or-more points, seven or more rebounds, four-or-more assists, and a steal.
