Iowa Wolves Acquire Center Simi Shittu

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves announced today that the team has acquired center Simi Shittu (pronounced sim-EE-so-lah shih-TOO) from the Lakeland Magic for the returning player rights to guard Justin Jaworski. The teams also swapped 2023 NBA G League second-round draft picks with Iowa sending its own pick with Lakeland sending the South Bay Lakers’ pick.

Shittu, 6-10, has played in 23 games (19 starts) this season with the Magic, averaging 14.2 points on 51.6% shooting, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 21.9 minutes per game.

Shittu has appeared in 77 career G League games (47 starts) for the Magic, Westchester Knicks and Windy City Bulls, averaging 13.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Shittu went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft after playing one season for Vanderbilt University, where he averaged 10.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Jaworski, 6-3, played in 37 games (one start) with Oklahoma City in 2021-22, averaging 8.0 points on 40.2% from the field, including 37.6% from three and 2.6 rebounds per game.
