Frisco, TX - Texas Legends center Jamarion Sharp has been named the 2025–26 Kia NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year, the league announced today.

Sharp, in his second season with the Legends, appeared in 25 regular season games (16 starts) and established himself as one of the most dominant rim protectors in league history. Sharp’s 3.8 blocks per game led the NBA G League this season, anchoring a Legends defense that finished with a top-10 defensive rating. Texas also led the league in blocks per game (7.3), with Sharp responsible for 71.2% of the team’s total blocks.

This marks the first time in franchise history that a Texas Legends player has been named NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year.
