Knicks Sign Jaylen Martin To Two-Way Contract

NEW YORK, November 27, 2023 The New York Knicksannounced today that the team has signed guard Jaylen Martin to a two-way contract.

Martin, 19-years-old (6-6, 216 pounds), is averaging 10.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in seven games (three starts) this season with the Westchester Knicks, the Knicks’ NBA G League affiliate. In his first career start, he recorded 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists vs. the Delaware Blue Coats on Nov. 18. He also registered 20 points, two rebounds, two steals, and two blocks vs. the Raptors 905 Nov. 20.

The Quincy, Florida-native averaged 14.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 10 regular season games and 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in six postseason games for YNG Dreamerz of the Overtime Elite last season. He finished second in the league’s Most Improved Player voting and helped his team to the OTE Championship series, losing to the City Reapers. He joined Overtime Elite prior to the 2021-22 season, appearing in 25 games and scoring in double-figures in six of them.

Martin played three seasons at Florida State Univeristy High School under former Knicks guard Charlie Ward. He averaged 13.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in 21 games during his junior season.
