Lakeland Magic Beat Delaware Blue Coats In NBA G League Finals

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Delaware Blue Coats, 97-78, in the NBA G League Finals presented by YouTube TV. It's Lakeland's first championship in franchise history. Lakeland guard Devin Cannady scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had four assists on the way to being named Finals MVP, becoming the first undrafted player to do so in league history. The Magic never trailed in the game, setting the tone early on defense to end the first quarter up 21-11. They would go into halftime up 46-34. Though known for its hot shooting from beyond the arc, Lakeland shot just 12-35 from deep, but made up for it with 42 points in the paint. Two-way guard Rayjon Tucker led the Blue Coats with 20 points, while Isaiah Joe scored 18 points. Joe, who was placed on assignment on February 28, averaged 23.3 points per-game in three playoff games. Delaware's other two-way player and potential league-MVP candidate Paul Reed, notched his second consecutive double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Jon Teske scored 12 points for the Magic, while Tahjere McCall chipped in with 11.
