Official Release /April 1, 2026

CLEVELAND, OH – Cleveland Charge General Manager Liron Fanan has been named the 2025-26 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year, the League office announced today.  The award is given as the result of a vote of the 30 team head coaches and general managers.

“Liron’s leadership and tireless work ethic have been instrumental in building the Cleveland Charge roster and establishing a strong development culture across our basketball ecosystem,” said Koby Altman, President of Basketball Operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers. “This recognition is well deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of her — not only for this achievement, but also for becoming the first woman to be named NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year.”

The Charge earned the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference by finishing with a 23-13 regular season record, while the team’s 31-19 overall record tied the mark for most wins in a season in Charge franchise history (2015-16 & 2016-17).  Cleveland as a team ranked in the top five in several statistical categories: 1st in assists (29.9 apg), 2nd in offensive rating (119.9), 2nd in scoring (123.6 ppg), and 2nd in field goal percentage (49.4%).

The team had three players called up with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season (Darius Brown II, Tristan Enaruna, Riley Minix) and three earned call-ups with other NBA teams (Chaney Johnson – Brooklyn Nets, Norchad Omier - Los Angeles Clippers, Killian Hayes - Sacramento Kings).  In addition, Nae’Qwan Tomlin was converted from a two-way player to a standard NBA contract by the Cavaliers.  Fanan becomes the first woman in NBA G League history to earn the honor of Basketball Executive of the Year and joins current Cavaliers General Manager Mike Gansey as the second Charge basketball executive to win the award (2016-17).

Fanan originally joined the organization prior to the 2018-19 season as the Director of G League Player Development, where she worked with players on off-the-court initiatives through league and team programming.  She was promoted to Assistant General Manager before the 2020-21 season, where she became instrumental in the roster construction and scouting processes.  She was promoted to Charge General Manager before the 2023-24 season after her predecessor Brendon Yu was named Director of Scouting for the Cavaliers. Cleveland hosts the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards) tonight at 7:30 p.m. for their Eastern Conference first round game of the 2026 NBA G League Playoffs presented by Google.
