Los Angeles Lakers Sign Guard Kobe Bufkin to 10-day Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Kobe Bufkin to a 10-day contract.

Bufkin (6’5”, 195) has appeared in seven regular season games (all starts) for the South Bay Lakers this season, averaging 28.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.7 blocks in 37.3 minutes. He also played in seven Tip-Off Tournament games (four starts), averaging 24.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.7 minutes. Bufkin, acquired by South Bay via trade Nov. 13, was signed to a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season on Nov. 24.

In 27 career NBA games across two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks (2023-25), the 22-year-old has averaged 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 11.9 minutes. The Michigan native was originally selected by Atlanta with the 15th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Collegiately, Bufkin played two seasons at the University of Michigan (2021-23), averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 23.3 minutes across 61 games (33 starts).

Bufkin will wear jersey No. 18 for the Purple and Gold.
