Official Release /December 7, 2023

PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Celtics today announced a special theme night to honor and recognize those affected by the recent mass shooting in Lewiston.

“Lewiston Strong Night” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16 during Maine’s game vs. College Park at the Portland Expo. It is meant to serve as a celebration of the people of Lewiston-Auburn. As part of the ongoing efforts to support the community, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation will make a $50,000 donation on behalf of the Boston and Maine Celtics to the LA Metro Chamber Foundation, a local nonprofit run by the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

“After lengthy discussions with leadership in the Lewiston community, we are more than happy to announce this theme night,” said Maine Celtics President Dajuan Eubanks. “The people of Lewiston are our fans and our family. They are an important fabric of our community. We look forward to celebrating with them on Dec.16.”

For the game, the Maine Celtics will wear special Lewiston uniforms, featuring the Lewiston High School colors and “04240” Lewiston zip code. The night will also include recognition of local survivors and members of the community who are helping uplift the area in their time of need.

Fans who would like to support can also purchase tickets to the game, and $10 from each ticket purchased will also be donated to the LA Metro Chamber Foundation. For the donation to be activated, tickets must be purchased by using this link: https://fevo-enterprise.com/event/Lewistonstrong5

“Lewiston Strong Night” continues the Maine Celtics’ efforts to support the Lewiston community in the wake of the tragedy. Maine will continue to wear a blue “Lewiston” stripe all season long on all regular home and away uniforms. The team will display a “Lewiston Strong” banner at the Expo in the north end zone section for the duration of the season.
