Official Release /March 15, 2026

Capitanes delivered a thrilling performance to defeat the Memphis Hustle 125–122, overcoming early turnover struggles and surging in the second half before sealing the win with a clutch three-pointer in the final seconds. The dramatic victory not only capped an intense back-and-forth contest but also marked a historic milestone for the franchise: Capitanes clinched their first-ever berth in the NBA G League playoffs.

Memphis struck first, with P. Crockrell opening the scoring and helping the Hustle establish an early rhythm. Capitanes took time to settle in, and ball control proved challenging early on, as Capitanes committed eight turnovers in the opening quarter. Still, the offense began to find its footing late in the period, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from Reynan Dos Santos and Wade Taylor in the final minute to keep the deficit manageable.

Momentum began to shift i as Capitanes increased their intensity on both ends of the floor. Jordan Minor made an immediate impact off the bench, tallying eight points and four rebounds in the first half to help stabilize the team’s rhythm. Moments later, Wade Taylor scored in the paint to give Capitanes their first lead of the night. Despite a late long-range miss from Dos Santos, Capitanes entered halftime trailing by just one point, 55–54, while remaining perfect from the free-throw line.

The second half proved to be the turning point. The opening minutes featured four lead changes as both teams traded baskets in a tightly contested battle. A basket from LJ Figueroa was briefly reviewed for a potential shot-clock violation, but the call stood after head coach Vitor Galvani used his challenge. Minor continued to anchor the defensive effort with 9 rebounds and the team’s depth stood out as nearly the entire active roster contributed in double figures. On the other side, O. Robinson delivered an outstanding performance, recording a double-double and emerging as the only player in the game to surpass 30 points. In the closing seconds, Wade Taylor delivered the defining moment of the night, drilling a clutch three-pointer with just two seconds remaining to seal the victory.

The win will go down as one of the most important in franchise history. Without relinquishing the lead throughout the final quarter, Capitanes closed out a dramatic victory that officially secured the team’s first-ever qualification for the NBA G League Playoffs, marking a historic achievement and a defining milestone for the organization.
