New Orleans Pelicans Sign Jaron Pierre Jr. To Two-Way Contract

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed guard Jaron Pierre Jr. to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pierre, 6-5, 210, was selected by New Orleans with the 58th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. During the 2025-26 season at SMU, Pierre averaged 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 33.0 minutes per game while shooting .462 from the field, .370 from three-point distance and .758 from the foul stripe. He earned All-ACC Honorable Mention and NABC All-Gulf District Second Team honors.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Pierre appeared in 152 games (121 starts) over five collegiate seasons at Southern Miss, Wichita State, Jacksonville State and SMU, averaging 14.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 30.8 minutes per game. He was named the 2024-25 Conference USA Player of the Year after averaging 21.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists at Jacksonville State.
