Osceola Magic Acquire Returning Player Rights To Devontae Cacok, Reggie Perry, And Jared Butler

Kissimmee, Fla. – The Osceola Magic have acquired returning player rights to center Devontae Cacok, forward Reggie Perry, and a 2024 second-round pick from the Motor City Cruise, General Manager Kevin Tiller announced today. The Magic sends the returning player rights to Zavier Simpson to the Cruise.
In a separate transaction, Osceola has acquired returning player rights to guard Jared Butler from the Grand Rapids Gold. The Magic will also receive the 28th pick in the 2023 NBA G League draft from the Gold via the Memphis Hustle. Osceola sends the returning player rights to Au’Diese Toney to the Grand Rapids Gold.
Cacok (6’8”, 240, 10/8/1996) played in 28 games (28 starts) last season with the Motor City Cruise, averaging 18.5 ppg., 9.6 rpg. and 1.5 apg. in 29.6 minpg., while shooting .612 from the field. Cacok has played in 36 career NBA regular season games (one start), averaging 2.5 ppg. and 2.2 rpg. in 6.3 minpg.
Perry (6’8”, 250, 3/21/2000) played in 41 games (30 starts) last season with the Raptors 905 and Motor City Cruise, averaging 20.9 ppg., 7.8 rpg. and 3.3 apg. in 30.0 minpg., while shooting .462 from the field.
Originally selected in the second round (57 overall) of the 2020 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, Perry has played in 36 career NBA regular season games (one start), averaging 4.7 ppg. and 3.3 rpg., in 11.1 minpg.
Simpson (6’0”, 190, 2/11/1997) played in 50 games (50 starts) last season with the Osceola Magic, averaging 17.1 ppg., 4.6 rpg. and 8.9 apg. in 33.9 minpg., while shooting .513 from the field.
Butler (6’3”, 193, 8/25/2000) played in 41 games (40 starts) last season with the Grand Rapids Gold, averaging 18.0 ppg., 3.4 rpg. and 5.8 apg. in 30.1 minpg., while shooting .456 from the field.
Originally selected in the second round (40 overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft by New Orleans, Butler has played in 48 career NBA regular season games (two starts), averaging 4.1 ppg., 1.0 rpg. and 1.5 apg in 9.1 minpg.
Toney (6’6”, 205, 11/12/99) played in 46 games (18 starts) last season with Osceola, averaging 7.2 ppg. and 4.1 rpg. in 21.0 minpg., while shooting .536 from the field.
