Raptors Sign Carlson To Two-Way Contract

The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday they have signed centre Branden Carlson to a two-way contract. Per team policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Carlson, 7-foot, 220 pounds, played five collegiate seasons at Utah (2019-24) where he averaged 12.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 26.1 minutes in 146 career games (140 starts). He shot .513 (732-1428) from the field, .354 (135-381) from three-point range and .728 (291-400) at the free throw line. Carlson earned All-Pac 12 First Team honours back-to-back seasons (2022-24) and departed the Runnin’ Utes as the school’s all-time leader in blocks (241) and games played (146), while ranking fifth in scoring (1,892).
A native of South Jordan, Utah, Carlson averaged team highs of 17.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 36 games as a fifth-year senior last season. He helped Utah (22-15) to their first 20-win campaign since 2017-18 and was named a top-10 finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, given annually to the top centre in men’s Division l college basketball.
