Rockets Convert JD Davison to Standard NBA Contract

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets today announced they have converted two-way guard JD Davison to a standard NBA contract.  

Davison was originally the 53rd overall pick by Boston in the 2022 NBA Draft following his freshman season at Alabama.  He spent his first three seasons with the Celtics before signing a two-way deal with Houston on July 26, 2025.

In 27 games for the Rockets this season, Davison is averaging 11.3 points, 5.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds per 36 minutes played.  Davison also appeared in seven games for Houston’s G League affiliate, Rio Grande Valley, while averaging 25.3 points, 7.9 assists, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks.  He was named G League MVP in 2024-25.
