Salt Lake City Stars Acquire Taylor Funk in Trade with the San Diego Clippers

SALT LAKE CITY (August 24, 2026) — The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that the team has acquired the NBA G League rights to forward Taylor Funk from the San Diego Clippers in exchange for the rights to guard Max Abmas and forward Daniel Batcho.
About Taylor Funk
Went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing five collegiate seasons at Saint Joseph’s (2017-22) and finishing his collegiate career at Utah State (2022-23).
Funk (6-8, 230, Utah State) appeared in 41 games (25 starts) for San Diego during the 2025-26 season, averaging 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 26.2 minutes per contest.
Spent time with the Capital City Go-Go during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons after beginning his NBA G League career with the Maine Celtics.
