Skyforce Acquires Player Rights To Gabe Brown

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced that the team has acquired returning player rights to forward Gabe Brown and a 2024 second-round NBA G League Draft pick from the Greensboro Swarm in exchange for returning player rights to guard Marcus Garrett.
Brown, a 6-8, 215-pound forward out of Michigan State went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. He joined Raptors 905 as an exhibit-10 player ahead of the 2022-23 season and in 48 games averaged 12.2 points on 44.2 percent shooting, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per 25.3 minutes a game. Brown’s NBA G League rights were traded to the Greensboro Swarm on Nov. 20, 2023.
Prior to his professional career, he played in 124 games (57 starts) for Michigan State from 2019-22, where Brown averaged 7.1 points on 43.5 percent shooting, 2.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per 20.1 minutes a game. He averaged a career-high 11.6 points on 42.8 percent shooting, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per 28.9 minutes in 36 starts as a senior in 2021-22.
Brown currently plays for OpenJobMetis Varese in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A and is averaging 12.6 points on 48.0 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per 29.7 minutes in 19 starts.
