SLC Stars Acquire Justin Lewis

SALT LAKE CITY (December 27, 2023) — The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls affiliate). In the deal, Salt Lake City has acquired Justin Lewis in exchange for the returning player rights to Frank Jackson and Tyler Cook, as well as the Stars’ 2024 second round draft pick.

Lewis (6-7, 245, Marquette) has appeared in 14 games for Windy City this season where he averaged 7.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 26.5 minutes of action. The forward was previously on a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls.

The Baltimore native played two years collegiately at Marquette (2020-22), averaging 16.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.2 minutes through 32 games (all starts) as a sophomore. He was named the Big East Most Improved Player and selected to the All-Big East First Team following his sophomore season after finishing third in the conference in points (537) and second in defensive rebounds (217).

Stars Head Coach Steve Wojciechowski coached Lewis during his freshman season with the Marquette Golden Eagles (2020-21).

Salt Lake City kicks off their first Regular Season game at Delta Center on Thursday, December 28 to face off against the Ontario Clippers at 7 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast LIVE on Jazz+ and ESPN+.
