BROOKLYN (Dec. 26, 2025) – The Brooklyn Nets have signed guard/forward Chaney Johnson to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Johnson (6’7”, 220) has spent the beginning of the 2025-26 season with the Cleveland Charge, the NBA G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he averaged 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game across 16 outings (10 starts) while shooting 60.4 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from 3-point range. He scored in double figures in 10 outings for the Charge, including three consecutive 20-point games from Nov. 7-12 to open the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament, along with recording double-digit rebounds three times, multiple steals five times and multiple blocks in five games.
Prior to signing with the Charge, Johnson went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft after spending the last two seasons (2023-25) at Auburn University, where he averaged 7.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 54.4 percent shooting from the field in 19.5 minutes per game across 73 games. In his two seasons with the Tigers, he helped lead them to the 2024 SEC Tournament Championship, the 2025 SEC Regular Season Championship and the 2025 Final Four. Before his time at Auburn, Johnson spent three seasons (2020-23) at NCAA Division II Alabama Huntsville, where he started all 35 games of the 2022-23 season and was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Year after averaging 15.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game as a sophomore. The Alabaster, Ala., native averaged 13.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game across 87 outings (66 starts) in his three seasons with the Chargers.
Brooklyn’s roster now stands at 18 players with three two-way players.
