Charlotte Hornets Sign Ajayi And Boswell To Two-Way Contracts

Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today that the team has signed forward Michael Ajayi and guard Kylan Boswell to Two-Way contracts. In a corresponding move, the team has waived Two-Way forward Tosan Evbuomwan.

Ajayi averaged 16.4 points (45.5 FG%, 26.1 3P%, 65.3 FT%), 11.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.6 minutes per game last season, starting all 32 appearances for the Butler Bulldogs en route to a First-Team All-Big East selection. The Kent, Wa., native spent the previous season at Gonzaga University, where he averaged 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, after playing his junior season at Pepperdine University and earning All-WCC honors while leading the conference in scoring at 17.2 points per game. Ajayi spent his first two collegiate seasons at Pierce College.

Boswell, a native of Champaign, Ill., spent the last two seasons playing for his hometown Fighting Illini. He averaged 12.3 points (44.4 FG%, 30.7 3P%, 78.1 FT%), 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 30.0 minutes per game last season, starting all 30 outings and earning Big Ten All-Defense honors. Boswell spent his first two collegiate seasons at the University of Arizona, where he was a Pac-12 All-Freshman team honorable mention in 2022-23.

Evbuomwan was originally signed by Charlotte on Feb. 6, 2026, and averaged 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.1 minutes per game with the Greensboro Swarm, making 10 regular season appearances (nine starts) and winning G League Finals MVP as the organization claimed its first NBA G League Championship.
