Hornets Sign Malachi Flynn To 10-Day Contract

March 1, 2025 – Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today the team has signed guard Malachi Flynn to a 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Flynn appeared in 28 games this season with the Austin Spurs, San Antonio’s NBA G League affiliate, averaging 21.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 32.3 minutes. Flynn has suited up for the Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons throughout his four-year NBA career, averaging 5.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 213 outings (21 starts). He scored a career-high 50 points for Detroit on April 3, 2024, tying Nick Anderson for the second-most points ever scored by a player off the bench (51, Jamal Crawford).

He was originally selected by Toronto with the 29th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft following a standout season at San Diego State, where he led the Aztecs to a 30-2 record and a No. 6 ranking in the AP poll prior to the cancellation of the season.
