Jay Huff Earns NBA-Call Up With Washington Wizards

EL SEGUNDO – The Washington Wizards announced today the team has signed South Bay Lakers center Jay Huff to a two-way contract.
In 19 regular season games (all starts) for South Bay this season, Huff has averaged 14.3 points (.636 FG%), 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and a G League-high 3.6 blocks in 26.2 minutes per game. Over the last two seasons with South Bay, the 25-year-old has appeared in 47 regular season games (all starts), averaging 15.1 points (.639 FG%), 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.9 blocks in 26.0 minutes per contest. He recently finished a stint with USA Basketball for the FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers.
Huff played collegiately at the University of Virginia (2017-21). In his final season as a Cavalier, he appeared in 25 games (all starts) and averaged 13.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 27.0 minutes per game on his way to being voted to the ACC All-Defensive First Team.
The call-up marks the first of the season for South Bay and the 46th in team history.
