Long Island Nets Acquire Returning Player Rights To Keifer Sykes

LONG ISLAND (Sept. 18, 2023) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to guard Keifer Sykes from the Motor City Cruise in exchange for the returning player rights to forward Treveon Graham and a first round pick in the 2024 NBA G League Draft.
Sykes (6’0”, 180) has appeared in 32 NBA games (11 starts) across one season (2021-22) with Indiana, averaging 5.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 17.7 minutes per contest. He also appeared in 13 NBA G League Showcase Cup games for Fort Wayne in the same season, averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per game. In 79 career NBA G League regular season games (64 starts) over two seasons with Motor City (2022-23) and Austin (2015-16), Sykes holds averages of 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 31.3 minutes per game. Most recently with Motor City, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.9 minutes per contest across 29 regular season games (27 starts) in addition to appearing in four Showcase Cup contests for the Cruise, averaging 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 22.8 minutes per game. Sykes has also played five seasons (2016-21) internationally in Australia, China, Italy, Greece, Korea and Turkey. Prior to beginning his professional career, Sykes played four collegiate seasons (2011-15) at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, averaging 16.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 26.3 minutes per game across 127 games (125 starts). He was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and earned consecutive Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honors following his junior and senior seasons at Green Bay.
Graham appeared in 37 games (nine starts) for Long Island across two seasons (2021-23) and posted averages of 4.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.7 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Long Island off waivers on Jan. 27, 2022.
