Long Island Nets Announce Roster Changes

LONG ISLAND (Feb. 27, 2024) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired forward Nate Pierre-Louis from the Mexico City Capitanes in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Jordan Crawford. Long Island was granted an injury hardship exception by the NBA G League to allow for Pierre-Louis’ additional roster spot while guard Trey McGowens misses time due to left knee surgery. In a separate move, Long Island has requested waivers on forward Jaiden Delaire as Long Island center Patrick Gardner rejoins the team.

Pierre-Louis (6’4”, 205) has appeared in 72 career NBA G League regular season games (29 starts) over three seasons with the South Bay Lakers (2021-23) and Mexico City Capitanes (2023-24), registering averages of 8.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 22.1 minutes per contest. He has appeared in 11 regular season games (one start) this season with Mexico City, recording averages of 3.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15.5 minutes per game, as well as 11 Showcase Cup games (three starts), averaging 5.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 21.8 minutes per contest. The Plainfield, N.J., native won the 2022-23 Kia NBA G League Sportsmanship Award while with South Bay last season. Prior to beginning his professional career, he played three collegiate seasons (2017-20) at Temple, where he was named to the 2018 American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team as a freshman and selected as the co-Most Improved Player in the AAC as a sophomore. In 91 career games (65 starts) for the Owls, Pierre-Louis averaged 10.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.6 minutes per game.

Crawford appeared in 16 regular season games (seven starts) over one season (2021-22) with Long Island, recording averages of 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Long Island from the available player pool.

Delaire appeared in one regular season game for Long Island this season and posted two points and one steal in 10 minutes. He was originally acquired by Long Island from the available player pool on Feb. 7, while Gardner spent time with the Egyptian National Team during the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
