Luka Garza Named NBA G League Player of the Week

The NBA G League today announced Iowa Wolves center Luka Garza has been named the G League Player of the Week for games played Dec. 11-17. This is the first time this season and second time in his career that Garza has won the weekly top player award.
Last week, Garza dominated in Iowa’s sweep of the Cleveland Charge, averaging 36.5 points on 53.2% (25-of-47) shooting, 12.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. In the first win over the Charge on Dec. 14, Garza scored 35 points, including making 8-of-8 from the free throw line to go with a season-best 15 rebounds and three blocks and two assists. The following night against the Charge, he scored a season-high 38 points on 14-of-24 (58.3%) shooting and added nine rebounds and five assists.
In three games with the Wolves this season (all starts), Garza is averaging 36.7 points on 57.4% shooting from the field, 12.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 blocks per game.
