Orlando Magic Sign Ethan Thompson To Two-Way Contract

ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard Ethan Thompson to a two-way contract, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman has announced. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.
Thompson (6’5”, 195, 5/4/99) has played and started in 14 games during the regular season with Osceola of the NBA G League, averaging 17.7 ppg., 5.0 rpg., 3.1 apg. and 1.07 stlpg. in 34.1 minpg. He also appeared in 16 games (15 starts) with Osceola during the NBA G League Tip-off Tournament, averaging 16.8 ppg., 4.4 rpg., 2.3 apg. and 1.44 stlpg. in 32.1 minpg.
Undrafted by an NBA franchise, Thompson has appeared in 110 career NBA G League regular season games (101 starts) with Windy City, Mexico City and Osceola, averaging 17.0 ppg., 4.6 rpg., 3.6 apg. and 1.25 stlpg. in 32.9 minpg., while shooting .850 (300-353) from the free throw line. He was named to the 2023-24 All-NBA G League Third Team after averaging 22.8 ppg., 5.1 apg., 4.5 rpg. and 1.45 stlpg. in 37.2 minpg. in 33 games (all starts) with Mexico City.
Thompson played and started in 127 career games during four seasons (2017-21) at Oregon State University, averaging 13.5 ppg., 4.3 rpg., 3.9 apg. and 1.03 stlpg. in 33.9 minpg. In 2020-21, he was named to the All-Pac 12 First Team, the All-Pac 12 Tournament Team and the NCAA Midwest Region All-Tournament Team.
Thompson will wear #55 with the Orlando Magic.
