Orlando Magic Sign Orlando Robinson to Two-Way Contract

ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic have signed center Orlando Robinson to a two-way contract, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Robinson (6’10”, 245, 7/10/00) played in a combined 44 games (eight starts) last season with both Sacramento and Toronto, averaging 6.9 ppg., 5.0 rpg. and 1.8 apg. in 17.5 minpg. He appeared in nine games with the Kings, averaging 2.1 ppg., 1.6 rpg. and 1.0 apg. in 6.3 minpg., before being waived on Jan. 7. Robinson signed consecutive 10-day contracts with the Raptors on Jan. 18 and Jan. 28. He then signed a two-way contract with Toronto on Feb. 7, before it was converted to a standard contract on Mar. 4. Robinson played in 35 games (eight starts) with the Raptors, averaging 8.1 ppg., 5.9 rpg. and 1.9 apg. in 20.4 minpg. He scored in double figures 13 times and had 20+ points twice, including a career-high 25 points on Mar. 12 vs. Philadelphia. Robinson pulled down 10+ rebounds five times, including a career-high-tying 12 rebounds three times, the last on Apr. 9 vs. Charlotte, and had four double-doubles. He led (or tied) the team in scoring once, in rebounding four times and in assists once.

Undrafted by an NBA franchise, Robinson has appeared in 111 career NBA regular season games (16 starts) with Miami, Sacramento and Toronto, averaging 4.7 ppg., 3.9 rpg. and 1.2 apg. in 13.5 minpg. He has also played and started in 17 career NBA G League regular season games with Sioux Falls and Stockton, averaging 21.0 ppg., 10.2 rpg., 2.5 apg., 1.88 blkpg. and 1.00 stlpg. in 31.2 minpg.

Robinson played and started in 90 career games during three seasons (2019-22) at Fresno State University, averaging 15.7 ppg., 8.0 rpg., 2.2 apg. and 1.01 blkpg. in 30.9 minpg. As a junior (2021-22), he played and started in 36 games with the Bulldogs, averaging 19.4 ppg., 8.4 rpg., 2.9 apg., 1.19 blkpg. and 1.00 stlpg. in 33.2 minpg. and was named to the 2021-22 All-Mountain West First Team. Robinson became just the second player in NCAA history to compile 700+ points, 300+ rebounds and 100+ assists in a single season. He was also named to the 2020-21 All-Mountain West Second Team as a sophomore.
