With the start of the 2023-24 G League season fast approaching, the 2023 NBA G League draft is set for Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 PM/ET.

The three-round draft will see teams select from an expansive pool of available players. This year’s class features plenty of G League veterans, college stars, and others looking to show their skills in the hopes of earning an NBA Call-Up.

Check out just some of the names to watch out for on draft day. The Draft is not available to watch live, but follow along @NBAGLeague on social media for live updates all day

Jack White

The Australian big man and Duke product is coming off of a very promising rookie year after spending his first two professional seasons with Melbourne United of the NBL.

White initially signed a Two-Way contract with the Denver Nuggets following a stint with the team during NBA Summer League in 2022. He went on to appear in 26 games with the Grand Rapids Gold this past year across Showcase Cup and Regular Season action, averaging 19.2 PTS and 9.4 REB and logging 13 games with 20+ points in that span.

In addition, White made 17 appearances with the Nuggets, winning an NBA championship in the process.

Sincere Carry

The 2022 MAC Player of the Year, Carry will be looking to bring his impressive college resume to the G this season.

Carry spent the first three seasons of his college career at Duquesne before transferring to Kent State in 2021. En route to earning Player of the Year honors, Carry averaged 17.9 PTS, 4.5 REB and 4.8 AST, also being named First Team All-MAC and making the MAC All-Defensive Team. He followed that up by averaging 17.5 PTS and 4.8 AST during the 2022-23 season, once again being named First Team All-MAC and MAC All-Defensive Team.

Stephan Hicks

The former Indiana Mad Ants star is back stateside after spending the past two seasons overseas in Taiwan.

Hicks joined the Mad Ants after the 2015 NBA G League Draft and soon cemented himself as one of the teams’ best players. Across five seasons with the Mad Ants, Hicks averaged 13.0 PPG and 5.6 RPG, including averaging a career-high 15.4 PTS during the 2018-19 season. Overall, Hicks is currently the Mad Ants’ franchise leader in total career rebounds (1,245).

Shamorie Ponds

The first overall pick in the 2021 NBA G League draft looks to make his return following a stint with Astros de Jalisco of the Mexican CIBACOPA league.

After going undrafted out of St. John’s in the 2019 NBA Draft, Ponds, a two-time First Team All-Big East honoree, signed a Two-Way deal with the Toronto Raptors. In 18 games with Raptors 905, Ponds logged 14.4 PTS, 3.3 AST and 2.0 STL during the 2019-20 season, which included three games with 25+ points.

Ponds then spent time in the Bosnian League with Spars before the Delaware Blue Coats drafted him entering the 2021-22 season. He averaged 13.1 PTS, 5.1 AST, and 4.1 REB in 29 games of action, helping lead the Blue Coats to a G League Finals berth.

Scottie Lewis

Drafted in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, the former Florida Gators standout will be coming back to the G after recovering from a leg injury suffered in 2022.

Lewis signed a Two-Way deal with Charlotte after the draft, going on to play in 32 games with the Greensboro Swarm. He averaged 12.1 PTS and 1.5 BLK with the Swarm, logging 16+ points eight times during the 2021-22 season.

Kyree Walker

After helping lead the Scarborough Shooting Stars to a CEBL title this past season, Walker will be looking to build off of that success as he returns to the G.

Walker previously earned a spot on the Capital City Go-Go’s roster heading into the 2021-22 season. He went on to average 8.6 PTS for the year - which included a 30-point, 11-rebound double-double against Motor City - as he helped the Go-Go reach the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the G League Playoffs.

Chris Walker

A 2013 McDonald’s All-American, Walker initially spent four seasons with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers from 2015-19. He averaged a career-high 10.1 PTS and 5.7 REB during the 2017-18 season as Rio Grande Valley advanced to the Conference Semifinals of the G League Playoffs.

Walker was a member of the Vipers’ 2018-19 squad that ended up winning that season’s G League championship. That year, Walker posted 7.5 PTS and 5.7 REB in 49 games, scoring in double figures 15 times.
