NOTE: Thierry Darlan has reportedly withdrawn his name from the 2024 NBA Draft player pool.
Along with fellow Ignite teammate Babacar Sane, Thierry Darlan attended NBA Academy Africa in Senegal. The 6-foot-8 guard participated in several high-profile competitions and events after joining NBA Academy Africa in 2021. He was named MVP of the 2022 Basketball Without Borders Africa camp in Cairo and also led his team to the championship at the 2022 NBA Academy Games in Atlanta, scoring 32 points in the semifinals.
In March 2023, Darlan became the sixth NBA Academy graduate and the third from NBA Academy Africa to sign with Ignite. The 20-year-old saw action in 45 games on the year, averaging 5.4 points and seven double-digit scoring performances while posting multiple steals nine times. This summer, he finished eighth in the Basketball Africa League scoring race, averaging 17.7 points per game for his hometown Bangui Sporting Club. He also finished eighth in rebounding, pulling down 8.7 per game.

Top Performance:
Darlan’s best overall performance of the season came on Feb. 4 against Memphis. He dropped a career-high 18 points on 62.5 percent shooting from the field, grabbed 5 rebounds, and added a steal. He also recorded 4 3-pointers in the process, the most in any game for his career.

Darlan earned a spot in the NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T, competing for Team Strictly BBall and finishing with 1 rebound and 1 assist in the Semifinals loss to Team Earn Your Leisure.
