Best Games To Watch This Week: Dec. 4
Joe DiProsperos /December 5, 2023
It’s Monday, which of course means there’s another full week of G League action on tap.
The season is almost a month in and there is plenty to look forward to. Whether it’s teams jockeying for position in their respective pods or players looking to maintain strong play, the intrigue is only going to increase with the Showcase Cup fast approaching.
Here are just a few of the games you won’t want to miss.
Indiana Mad Ants (7-1) v. Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-4) - Dec. 5 @ 7:30 PM/ET On ESPN+
The Mad Ants are the hottest team in the G at the moment, having ridden a 6-game winning streak to the top of the Central pod. All six of those wins have come by double-digits, including three of them by 19+ points as they currently own the league’s second-best average point differential (+14.5). Sioux Falls will be looking to stay in the mix for that top seed, with Alondes Williams (19.5 PTS, 6.0 AST, 4.8 REB) and Justin Champagnie (20.8 PTS, 8.4 REB, 2.6 STL) continuing to lead the way for that squad.
Santa Cruz Warriors (6-2) v. Ontario Clippers (6-3) - Dec. 5 @ 10 PM/ET On ESPN+
These two squads will square off for full control of the West pod. Two-Way guard Lester Quinones has been leading the way for Santa Cruz of late, leading the team in scoring (20.7 PTS) while also grabbing over 6 rebounds per contest. He’ll have a tough task ahead of him going up against an Ontario team that currently owns the league’s best defensive rating (94.9) and most recently held this very same Warriors squad to under 100 points during their Nov. 27 matchup.
Rio Grande Valley Vipers (6-3) v. Oklahoma City Blue (5-4) - Dec. 6 @ 1 PM/ET On ESPN+
Arguably no one has been on more of a roll lately than the Vipers’ Jarrett Culver. The former 2019 NBA first-rounder has logged three-straight 30+ point outings as Rio Grande Valley has risen to the top of the South pod. Rookie KJ Williams has also been stringing together some strong performances, recently setting a new season-high with his 38-point, 12-rebound effort against Osceola on Nov. 28. He leads the Blue in scoring (19.8 PTS) over the team’s last six games.
Wisconsin Herd (4-4) v. Windy City Bulls (5-4) - Dec. 9 @ 6 PM/ET On Tubi
Rookie Two-Way big man Adama Sanogo has gotten off to an excellent start to this point in the season. He’s currently leading Windy City in both scoring (18.0 PTS) and rebounding (10.9 REB) in addition to being their top shot-blocker (1.4 BLK) as they look to stay in the hunt in the Central pod. On the other hand, Wisconsin’s recently-crowned all-time leading scorer Lindell Wigginton continues to deliver. He’s logged 20+ points in three of his four outings this year, most recently recording a 26-point, 8-assist effort in a Dec. 1 win over Motor City.
