NBA G League Ignite hosted its first scrimmage of December on the team’s home court at Ultimate Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek, California, on Tuesday.

The Ignite team fell in a tightly contested battle, 113-107, to a squad of veteran G League alums despite a 26-point effort from Jonathan Kuminga and 22-point showing from Jalen Green.

“Finally we get to play, it’s real now,” said Green. “It was just exciting to show how much better we got today.”

Ignite sunk 20-of-27 free throw attempts in addition to the 48 combined points from Kuminga and Green. Coach Brian Shaw was also happy with Kai Sotto’s defensive, Isaiah Todd’s energy and Daishen Nix’s offense, he said in his press conference.

“Overall I was really, really happy with the effort and what I saw today,” said Shaw. “Especially in terms of physicality and intensity.

The team will take a day break before lacing up against the same opponent on Thursday.
