Osceola Magic Acquire Colin Castleton From Long Island Nets

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Jan 15, 2025) - The Osceola Magic have acquired center Colin Castleton from the Long Island Nets, General Manager of Osceola Magic Kevin Tiller announced today. In exchange, the Magic will send the Nets a first-round draft pick in both the 2025 and 2026 NBA G League Drafts. Long Island will also receive Reid Travis’s Returning Player Rights. In a corresponding move, the Magic have waived forward Jemerrio Jones.
Castleton (6’10”, 250, 5/25/00) joined the South Bay Lakers after going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. During the 2023-24 season, the University of Florida big man appeared in 24 games (starting 23) and averaged 16.4 ppg., 10.5 rpg., 3.1 apg., 1.5 bpg and 1.0 spg. in 28.8 minpg.
After being traded to the Long Island Nets, Castleton was subsequently signed to a two-way contract by the Memphis Grizzlies prior to the 2024-25 season. Before being waived by the Grizzlies on Jan. 10, Castleton spent 11 games (10 starts) with the Grizzlies G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, and averaged 15.9 ppg., 8.1 rpg., 2.8 apg. and 1.3 bpg. in 28.6 minpg.
Jones (6’5”, 175, 4/9/95) appeared in 10 games during the 2024-25 G League season, averaging 1.4 ppg. and 2.7 rpg. in 10.2 minpg.
