Rockets Re-Sign Nate Williams To Two-Way Contract

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets today announced they have signed rookie Reed Sheppard, re-signed Nate Williams to a two-way contract and re-signed Nate Hinton and Jermaine Samuels Jr. All four players are expected to participate in NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 which takes place in Las Vegas from July 12-22.
Sheppard was the third overall pick by Houston in the 2024 NBA Draft following his freshman season at Kentucky. He was named National Freshman of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association in addition to earning Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honors.
Williams appeared in 22 games as a two-way player for the Rockets last season. Per 36 minutes played, he averaged 17.6 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 54.0% from the floor. Williams also played in 11 G League Showcase/season games while transferred to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and averaged 16.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.4 spg.
Hinton was a two-way player for Houston in 2023-24 and appeared in 15 games. He earned G League All-Defensive First Team honors last season while averaging 13.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 5.1 apg and 2.3 spg in 37 Showcase/season games for the Vipers.
Samuels appeared in 14 games as a rookie two-way player for the Rockets last season. He also played in 38 G League Showcase/season games for Rio Grande Valley while averaging 19.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 3.7 apg and 1.1 spg.
